Elon Musk reportedly manages to lay off more Twitter employees during Thanksgiving week

Nov 21, 4 p.m

Twitter now has a fraction of the workforce it had before Elon Musk took over. The “Thanos Snap” layoffs earlier this month, coupled with Musk’s Google Forms ultimatum, have resulted in the company’s headcount being reduced by a staggering percentage in a short amount of time.

How Musk was able to fire more people — not fewer over Thanksgiving week — would be remarkable if it weren’t so terribly grim. According to workers who spoke to Bloomberg, members of Twitter’s sales team got the boot; more people on that team have reportedly subscribed to Musk’s “hardcore” vision of Twitter. The reason for the layoffs seems to be to balance the number of sales people with the number of technical people in the company. According to Bloomberg, some workers were told Sunday they would be cut.

Elon Musk taunts Donald Trump to return him to Twitter

Nov 21, 12:30 p.m

Elon Musk really can’t stop posting.

After former President Donald Trump called Truth Social “special” and publicly refused to return to Twitter — the social media turf that gave Trump a presidential platform — Musk has been publicly posting memes mocking Trump.

“And lead us not into temptation,” Musk tweeted Sunday alongside a very NSFW meme suggesting that Trump really, really wants to return to Elon Musk’s Twitter.

The mockery and pleading comes as Musk released a poll on whether Twitter should restore the former president’s account, with the response “Vox Populi, Vox Dei.” Trump was banned from the site for spreading election disinformation and “glorifying violence” after the January 6 riot.

Ye also returned this weekend after being suspended for anti-Semitic tweets last month. Musk tweeted in the days following the buyout that his account had been restored prior to his takeover. “Shalom : )” he tweeted Sunday afternoon.
